I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds. God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father; by whom all things were made. Who, for us men and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried. And the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father. And He shall come again, with glory, to judge the living and the dead. His kingdom shall have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of life; who proceeds from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets. And I believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Athanasian Creed1۔ جو کوئی نجات چاہے اُسے سب باتوں سے زیادہ ضروری ہے کہ کیتھولک اِیمان پر قائم رہے۔
2۔ اس اِیمان کو اگر کوئی بے کم و کاست اور خالص نہ رکھے تو وہ بے شک اَبدی ہلاکت میں پڑے گا۔
3۔ اور کیتھولک اِیمان یہ ہے۔ کہ ہم واحد خُدا کی پرستش تثلیث میں اور ثالُوث کی پرستش توحید میں کریں۔
4۔ نہ اقانیم کو مخلوط کریں نہ جو ہر کو تقسیم ۔
5۔ کیونکہ اقنومت باپ کی اور ہے، بیٹے کی اور، رُوح القدس کی اور
6۔ لیکن باپ اور بیٹے اور رُوح اُلقدس کی اُلوہیت ایک ہی ہے۔ جلال برابر عظمت یکساں ازلی
7۔ جیسا باپ ہے ویسا ہی بیٹا اور ویسا ہی رُوح اُلقدس ہے۔
8۔ باپ غیر مخلوق بیٹا غیر مخلوق رُوح اُلقدس غیر مخلوق

14۔ تو بھی تین قادرِمطلق نہیں۔ بلکہ ایک ہی قادرِمطلق ہے۔
15۔ ویسا ہی باپ خُدا ، بیٹا خُدا اور رُوح القدس خُدا ہے۔
16۔ تا ہم تین خُدا نہیں بلکہ ایک ہی خُدا ہے۔
17۔ اِسی طرح باپ خُداوند ، بیٹا خُداوند ، اور رُوح اُلقُدس خُداوند ہے
18۔ پھر بھی تین خُدا وند نہیں بلکہ ایک ہی خُداوند ہے۔
19۔ جس طرح مسیحی اُصول کے سبب سے ہمیں ماننا پڑتا ہے۔ ہر ایک اقنوم جدا گانہ خُدا اور خُداوند ہے۔
20۔ اُسی طرح کیتھولک دین کے بموجب یہ کہنا منع ہے کہ تین خُدا یا تین خُداوند ہیں۔
21۔ باپ نہ کسی سے مصنوع ہے نہ مخلوق نہ مولود
22۔ بیٹا صرف باپ ہی سے ہے۔ نہ مصنوع ہے نہ مخلوق بلکہ مولُود ہے۔
23۔ رُوحُ اُلقُدس باپ اور بیٹے سے ہے۔ نہ مصنوع نہ مخلوق نہ مولُود بلکہ صادر ہے۔
24۔ پس تین باپ نہیں بلکہ ایک ہی باپ ہے، تین بیٹے نہیں بلکہ ایک ہی بیٹا ہے، تین رُوحُ اُلقُدس نہیں بلکہ ایک ہی رُوحُ اُلقُدس ہے
25۔ اور اس ثالُوث میں کوئی ایک دوسرے سے پہلے یا پیچھے نہیں نہ کوئی ایک دوسرے سے بڑا یا چھوٹا ہے۔
26۔ بلکہ تین اقنوم یکساں ازلی اور باہم برابر ہیں۔
27۔ الغرض ہر امر میں جیسا اُوپر بیان ہوا ہے،واحد کی پرستش تثلیث میں اور ثالُوث کی توحید میں کرنی واجب ہے۔
28۔ پس جو کوئی نجات چاہے ثالُوث کو یونہی مانے
29۔ علاوہ اُسکے اَبدی نجات کے لیئے ضرور ہے کہ وہ ہمارے خُداوند یسوع مسیح کے تجسم پر بھی صحیح اِیمان رکھے۔
30۔ کیونکہ صحیح اِیمان یہ ہے ہم اعتقاد رکھیں اور اقرار بھی کریں ۔ کہ ہمارا خُداوند یسوع مسیح جو خُدا کا بیٹا ہے اور خُدا بھی ہے اور انسان بھی۔
31۔ وہ خُدا ہے باپ کے جوہر سے سب عالموں سے پیشتر ،مولُود اور انسان ہے جو اپنی ماں کے جوہر سے اس عالم میں پیدا ہوا۔
32۔ وہ کامل خُدا اور کامل انسان ہے نفس ناطقه اور انسانی جسم میں موجُود ۔
33۔ اُلوہیت کی راہ سے باپ کے برابر اور انسانیت کی راہ سے باپ سے کم تر۔
34۔ وہ اگر چہ خُدا اور انسان ہے تا ہم وہ دو نہیں بلکہ ایک ہی مسیح ہے۔
35۔ ایک ہی ہے اِس طور پر نہیں کہ اُلوہیت کو جسمانیت سے بدل ڈالا بلکہ اس طور پر کہ انسانیت کو اُلوہیت میں لے گیا۔
36۔ وہ مطلقاً ایک ہے جو ہروں کے اختلاط سے نہیں بلکہ اقنوم کی یکتائی سے
37۔ کیونکہ جس طرح نفس ناطقه اور جسم مل کر ایک انسان ہوتا ہے۔ اُسی طرح خُدا اور انسان مل کر ایک مسیح ہے۔
38۔ اُس نے ہماری نجات کے واسطے دُکھ اُٹھایا۔ عالم ارُوح میں اتر گیا اور مُردوں میں سے جی اٹھا۔
39۔ آسمان پر چڑھ گیا اور خُدائے قادر مطلق کے داہنے بیٹھا ہے وہاں سے وہ زندوں اور مُردوں کی عدالت کرنے کے لیئے آنے والا ہے
40۔ اُسکی آمد پر سب آدمی اپنے اپنے بدن کے ساتھ جی اُٹھینگے اور اپنے اپنے اعمال کا حساب دینگے۔
41۔ تب جنہوں نے نیکی کی ہے وہ اَبدی زندگی میں اور جنہوں نے بدی کی ہے وہ اَبدی آگ میں داخل ہونگے۔
42۔ کیتھولک اِیمان یہی ہے۔ اِس پر اگر کوئی سچے دل سے اعتقاد نہ رکھے تو وہ نجات کو حاصل نہیں کر سکے گا۔ جلال باپ اور بیٹے اور رُوحُ اُلقُدس کا ہو ۔ جیسا ابتدا میں تھا۔ اِس وقت ہے اور اَبد تک رہے گا۔ آمین
1. Whosoever will be saved, before all things it is necessary that he hold the catholic faith.
2. Which faith unless every one do keep whole and undefiled, without doubt he shall perish everlastingly.
3. And the catholic faith is this: that we worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity.
4. Neither confounding the Persons, nor dividing the substance.
5. For there is one Person of the Father, another of the Son, and another of the Holy Spirit.
6. But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit is all one: the glory equal, the majesty coeternal.
7. Such as the Father is, such is the Son, and such is the Holy Spirit.
8. The Father uncreated, the Son uncreated, and the Holy Spirit uncreated.
9. The Father incomprehensible, the Son incomprehensible, and the Holy Spirit incomprehensible.
10. The Father eternal, the Son eternal, and the Holy Spirit eternal.
11. And yet they are not three eternals, but one eternal.
12. As also there are not three uncreated nor three incomprehensibles, but one uncreated and one incomprehensible.
13. So likewise the Father is almighty, the Son almighty, and the Holy Spirit almighty.
14. And yet they are not three almighties, but one almighty.
15. So the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God.
16. And yet they are not three Gods, but one God.
17. So likewise the Father is Lord, the Son Lord, and the Holy Spirit Lord.
18. And yet they are not three Lords, but one Lord.
19. For as we are compelled by the Christian truth to acknowledge every Person by Himself to be God and Lord,
20. so we are forbidden by the catholic religion to say there are three Gods or three Lords.
21. The Father is made of none, neither created nor begotten.
22. The Son is of the Father alone; not made nor created, but begotten.
23. The Holy Spirit is of the Father and of the Son; neither made, nor created, nor begotten, but proceeding.
24. So there is one Father, not three Fathers; one Son, not three Sons; one Holy Spirit, not three Holy Spirits.
25. And in this Trinity none is before or after another; none is greater or less than another.
26. But the whole three Persons are coeternal, and coequal.
27. So that in all things, as aforesaid, the Unity in Trinity and the Trinity in Unity is to be worshiped.
28. He therefore that will be saved must thus think of the Trinity.
29. Furthermore, it is necessary to everlasting salvation that he also believe faithfully the incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ.
30. For the right faith is that we believe and confess that our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is God and Man.
31. God of the substance of the Father, begotten before the worlds; and Man of the substance of His mother, born in the world.
32. Perfect God and perfect Man, of a reasonable soul and human flesh subsisting.
33. Equal to the Father as touching His Godhead, and inferior to the Father as touching His manhood.
34. Who, although He is God and Man, yet He is not two, but one Christ.
35. One, not by conversion of the Godhead into flesh, but by taking of the manhood into God.
36. One altogether, not by confusion of substance, but by unity of Person.
37. For as the reasonable soul and flesh is one man, so God and Man is one Christ.
38. Who suffered for our salvation, descended into hell, rose again the third day from the dead.
39. He ascended into heaven, He sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from there He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
40. At whose coming all men shall rise again with their bodies, and shall give an account of their own works.
41. And they that have done good shall go into life everlasting; and they that have done evil, into everlasting fire.
42. This is the catholic faith; which except a man believe faithfully and firmly, he cannot be saved. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be. Amen.

کیونکہ اِس میں رسُولوں کی تعلیم کا نچوڑ یا خلاصہ پایا جاتا ہے اِس لیے اِسکو رسُولی عقیدہ کہتے ہیں اِس کے چند جملے تو نئے عہدنامہ سے براہ راست اخذ کیے گئے ہیں۔(جیسے 1کرنتھیوں 12 : 3؛ 15 : 3، متی 16 : 16)۔موجودہ شکل میں یہ 710 عیسوی سے پہلے نہیں ملتا۔ نہ ہی یہ 390 عیسوی سے پہلے اِس نام سے کہلاتا تھا۔ 480 عیسوی کے بعد یہ روایت چلی کی رُوحُ اُلقُدس کی ہدایت سے بارہ رسُولوں میں سے ہر ایک نے اس کا ایک ایک فقرہ باری باری کہا۔ صرف مغربی کلیسیاؤں میں ہی اِس کو ایمان کا معیار قرار دیا گیا اور وہاں سے یہ پاکستانی کلیسیا میں مروّج ہوا۔راسخ اُلاعتقاد مشرقی کلیسیائیں نقایہ کہ عقیدہ کو اوّل درجہ دیتیں ہیں ۔ رسول عقیدہ کی مختصر اور پرانی شکل رُومی; کلیسیا میں بپتسمہ کے موقع پر استعمال ہوتی تھی. اِسکے تین حصے ہیں جو باپ، بیٹے اور رُوحُ اُلقُدس سے منسُوب ہیں۔ مختلف جگہوں میں ایسے عقائد پائے جاتے تھے ابتدائی صورت میں اِسکے نو جُز تھے۔ خدا باپ قادرِ مطلق ، خالق کُل۔ یسوع مسیح خداوند خدا کا بیٹا رُوحُ اُلقُدس، پاک کلیسیا، گناہوں کی معافی۔

Because it contains the summary or essence of the apostles' teaching, it is called the Apostles' Creed. Several of its phrases are taken directly from the New Testament (such as 1 Corinthians 12:3; 15:3, Matthew 16:16). In its present form, it is not found before 710 AD, nor was it known by this name before 390 AD. After 480 AD, a tradition developed that under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, each of the twelve apostles contributed one phrase in turn. It was adopted as a standard of faith only in the Western churches, and from there it became common in the Pakistani church. The Orthodox Eastern churches give first place to the Nicene Creed. The shorter and older form of the Apostles' Creed was used during baptism in the Roman church. It has three parts attributed to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Such creeds existed in various places; in its earliest form, it had nine parts: God the Father Almighty, Creator of all; Jesus Christ the Lord, the Son of God; the Holy Spirit, the holy Church, the forgiveness of sins.
Due to the heretical teachings of Docetism, Gnosticism, and Marcion, several additions were made to this creed over the centuries, and gradually it took its present form.
نقایہ کے عقیدے کے بارے
About the Nicene Creedنقایہ کی مجلس عامہ میں جسے شہنشاہ قسطنطین نے 325 عیسوی میں منعقد کروایا ترتیب دیا گیا تھا۔ یہ کلیسیا کے اِیمان کو آر یو سی بدعت سے محفوظ کرکے کلیسیا کی صحیح اور راست تعلیم کو چنے ہوئے لفظوں میں بیان کرتا ہے ۔
نقایہ کے عقیدہ کا آغاز یروشلیم کی کلیسیا کا مختصر عقیدہ تھا جو بپتسمہ کے موقع پر استعمال ہوتا تھا۔ بپتسمہ کے امیدواروں کو تین بنیادی سوالوں کا جواب دینا لازم تھا ۔ یعنی وہ باپ، بیٹے اور رُوحُ اُلقُدس کے بارے میں کیا اعتقاد رکھتے ہیں۔ ابتدائی کلیسیا میں چند اور ایسے مقامی عقائد موجود تھے۔ جب 325 عیسوی میں مشرقی اور مغربی کلیسیا کے تین سو اٹھارہ اُسقف نقایہ میں اریس کی بدعتی تعلیم کے خلاف ساری کلیسیا کے لئے اقرارِ ایمان مرتب کرنے لگے تو انہوں نے مندرج بالا عقیدہ استعمال کیا۔ لیکن انہوں نے اپنا مقصد پورا کرنے کے لئے اِس میں چند جملوں کا اضافہ کیا۔ جیسے کہ خدا، باپ اور بیٹا واحد جوہر ہیں اور کہ بیٹا خدا سے حقیقی خدا ہے۔

It was composed at the Council of Nicaea, which Emperor Constantine convened in 325 AD. It safeguards the faith of the Church against the Arian heresy and sets forth the true and correct teaching of the Church in carefully chosen words.
The Nicene Creed originated from a shorter creed of the Jerusalem church that was used during baptism. Baptismal candidates were required to answer three fundamental questions, what they believed about the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Several such local creeds existed in the early Church. When 318 bishops of the Eastern and Western churches gathered at Nicaea in 325 AD to formulate a confession of faith against the heretical teaching of Arius, they used the above-mentioned creed as their basis. However, they added several phrases to accomplish their purpose, such as declaring that God the Father and the Son are of one substance, and that the Son is very God of very God.
They refuted his heretical teaching point by point. The Councils of Constantinople (381 AD) and Chalcedon (451 AD) confirmed the Nicene Creed after making further necessary additions. After this, its complete text became the standard of faith in all Eastern and Western churches. The Western church made only one further addition which the Eastern church did not accept. At the Council of Toledo in 589 AD, the Western church declared regarding the Holy Spirit that He proceeds from the Son as well as from the Father. This creed is especially recited during baptism and Holy Communion.
اَتھنا سیس کے عقیدے کے بارے
About the Athanasian Creedکیونکہ یہ عقیدہ اتھنا سیس کے نام سے منسوب کیا گیا ہے اس لئے اس کا تعلیمی اختیار رسولوں کے عقیدہ اور نقایہ کے عقیدہ کے برابر سمجھا جاتا ہے یہ عقیدہ جنوبی فرانس میں وجود میں آیا ۔اس کے مصنف کا علم نہیں ۔اس کی مکمل سورت 875 سے پہلے نہیں ملتی یونانی اور روسی کلیسیائیں اسے عبادت میں استعمال تو کرتی ہیں مگر اس کو ایمان کے معیار کا درجہ نہیں دیتںیں اور باقی کلیسیائی اس کو محض عقیدہ کی حیثیت سے مانتی ہیں اِس کا مصنف اثنا سیس نہیں ہو سکتا کیونکہ اس کا اصل متن لاطینی میں ہے اور یہ اثناسیس کی یونانی کتب میں نہیں پایا جاتا ۔اس کے علاوہ چوتھی صدی کے کسی بھی مصنف نے اِس عقیدہ کا ذکر نہیں کیا۔ یہ عقیدہ کلیسیائے قدیم کی تعلیم کا خوبصورت خلاصہ پیش کرتا ہے۔ ہم اس میں پاک تثلیث کے بارے میں اوگسطین کی تعلیم کا اثر پہچانتے ہیں ہیں دوسری اور 42 آیت میں اسکی تعلیم کو رَد کرنے کا جو ذکر ہے وہ دوسرے عقیدوں میں نہیں پایا جاتا۔اپنی طولت کے باعث یہ عقیدہ عبادتوں میں بہت کم استعمال ہوتا ہے۔

Because this creed is attributed to Athanasius, its doctrinal authority is considered equal to that of the Apostles' Creed and the Nicene Creed. This creed originated in southern France. Its author is unknown. Its complete form is not found before 875 AD. The Greek and Russian churches use it in worship but do not grant it the status of a standard of faith, and other churches accept it merely as a creed. Its author cannot be Athanasius because its original text is in Latin, and it is not found in the Greek writings of Athanasius. Furthermore, no writer of the fourth century mentions this creed. This creed presents a beautiful summary of the teaching of the ancient Church. We recognize in it the influence of Augustine's teaching on the Holy Trinity. The condemnation mentioned in articles 2 and 42 is not found in other creeds. Due to its length, this creed is very rarely used in worship services.
This creed emerged in response to certain heresies that taught falsely about the Trinity, such as the heresy of Sabellius and the Arian heresy. Around 420 AD, a statement of the Western church clarified the teaching of the Nicene Creed. Although St. Athanasius did not write it, it was given his name because Athanasius was a sworn enemy of the Arian heresy.
